Installation instructions

AndroidAndroid 7.0 or later · APK

  1. Open the downloaded APK and follow your device’s instructions to allow installation from that source.
  2. Check for updates in the app. Installing an update requires a matching app signature.

WindowsWindows x64 · Setup EXE / Portable ZIP

  1. Use the EXE installer for a standard installation. It installs for the current user without administrator rights and adds a Start menu shortcut and an uninstall entry.
  2. For portable use, extract the entire ZIP to a writable folder and run shiori.exe. Both editions support in-app updates.
  3. Windows packages have no Authenticode signature and may trigger SmartScreen. Some EPUB layouts need Microsoft WebView2 Runtime.

macOSmacOS 12.0 or later · Apple Silicon / Intel

  1. Open the universal DMG and drag Shiori into Applications before running it. Apple Silicon and Intel are supported.
  2. Current builds are not signed with an Apple Developer ID or notarized. You may need to allow the app in System Settings → Privacy & Security. Copy it out of the DMG before running it.

iOS / iPadOSiOS / iPadOS 15.0 or later · Self-signing required

  1. The IPA is unsigned. You need to sign it before installing it on an iPhone or iPad, and use your signing tool to install future updates.
  2. The share extension requires matching App Group entitlements and may not work with every signing method. There is currently no public TestFlight invitation.

Android, Windows and macOS support in-app updates. On iOS, download the new IPA and sign it again to update. All releases ↗
